API Features

Interaction with existing systems

InfraTrack was developed with the idea of full integration. Using open source technologies and standards, allows for a seamless integration with your existing ticket, backup and monitoring solutions. JSON messages are accepted by the API via HTTP methods, messages which are immediately made available on the portal interfaces.

Existing systems can interact with the API and retrieve data like hardware configuration, datacenter location, vendor and support information.

Scalability

Given that multiple application, database and web portal servers can run in parallel you can scale the application to any level desired. We are strong believers that boosting existing hardware will not necessary make an application reliable and provide High Availability. Having multiple systems serving the same purpose and spreading the load and data across multiple geographical locations will protect your business information in the long run.

Fault Tolerance

While the API may very well work as a single instance, our recommendation is to distribute the data and load across multiple machines located in different geographical locations. This provides fault tolerance and protects for data loss. The database storage platform supports native replication, so the purpose of Disaster Recovery is already embedded with no need for additional replication solutions.

Hosted solution

The API is hosted by AM Data soft unless special licensing is purchased for in-house hosting. This eliminates the need for dedicated database and application servers and provides a reliable platform with low cost of ownership.

Web Portal Features

Localization

A scalable solution does not only apply to software and hardware but also to the end-user component. Our portal application supports per user translation and time zone change based on profile preferences. All raw records are stored in UTC timestamps and the application labels support translations in the following languages:

  • Romanian (Romania)
  • Russian (Russian Federation)

Other languages can be added by the client as needed.

Mobile Ready

InfraTrack web portal is designed for modern mobile devices and tables as well as classic workstations (PC's and MAC's). With one web interface all device and browser spectrum is covered.

Open Source

The web based portal is written in the popular PHP programing language and the full source code is available here. This allows end-users to fully customize the content, look and feel as needed by the business.

Data Flow

Minimum design requirements consist of:

  • 2 Application Servers
  • 2 Data Storage Servers
  • 2 Existing Domain Name Servers

Requests made to the application common name (e.g.: infratrack.domain.tld) are being DNS redirected to the physical web server. The web server is configured to connect to a multi-entry application host which also is configured to connect to a multi-entry data storage engine.

The data storage engine supports replication across it's available nodes, so at any given time the data will be available on a minimum 2 nodes.
